Coach Rudy Martinez brings 19 years of experience as a girl's basketball coach. Currently coaching with Lady Lightning for the last 9 years. Prior to Lady Lightning he coached for 5 years with Hoops Express Flash, bringing his young team to Nationals and winning Illinois State AAU 3 times. He also spent 10 years coaching and running the girl's basketball program at St.Bartholomew grade school in Chicago.
Rudy resides in Chicago. He has been married to Theresa for 27 years and they have 3 daughters. Cecily, Rosalynn and Julia. Julia is a Lady Lightning alumna who is a currently playing basketball at Saint Louis University.
